Atomic Bop is more of a pseudonym than a company name, at least that's what it's original purpose was. My name is David Ruscitti, and I am a web designer. I'm also a musician, which is why I wanted to separate the two with an alias.
I started in the web world about 3 years ago. I was doing well in the local music scene, but realized after 10 years that it would be increasingly difficult to make a good living at it. I decided to pursue web and graphic design. Well, little did I know, it would become another passion. It's an interesting field, and never boring, especially in the 3 years that I have been doing it professionally. The push for a more dynamic user experience and the use of the web as an application platform has skyrocketed technology and language development. It's an exciting world to be immersed in. There is so much need for customized web support, and that need is continually growing.
My goal is to, of course, bring this technology to my client's user base in the most usable and user-friendly way, but more importantly, allow my customers to expand their own content and their reach themselves, thus bringing down the cost of website maintenance.
I've been lucky enough to find a partner-in-crime, Jason Ryan, who has been through some interesting developmental obstacles with me. He is a fantastic designer, coder, and idea man. Check out his website and blog at 34one.com We met each other at our last job, Networks Plus, a web design / IT company, and clicked right away. We have since moved on to other things, and most recently, started to work closely with each other developing for the web. Soon, we will be launching our joint business, 20 Up 20 Down. This business will focus on web design, development, graphic design, and anything in between. Our goal is to develop applications to "fill in the gaps" on the web. There are still some things missing, things that would make site building much more streamlined. We plan on deploying these apps, as well as offering great solutions and information, to the non-web community, i.e., our clients.
